Badger Overview

Badger provides a non-destructive truck mounted excavating service called hydrovac. The system injects pressurized water to liquefy the ground and the slurry is removed by a powerful vacuum to safely expose underground utilities such as fibre optics, pipelines and cables to daylight.

Badger is the largest hydrovac services in North America and has been operating since 1992. Service is delivered through a growing network of over 130 locally operated corporate and franchise locations with a growing fleet of over 1,300 hydrovacs.

Badger designs and manufactures our hydrovac trucks in Red Deer, Alberta and is a publically traded company on the TSX with annual revenue > $600M in 2018. The U.S. business has grown substantially between 2013-2019. 

Business Opportunity Overview

• Badger’s customer base is very diversified and consists of small and large customers.
• Project opportunities are available from many different industries including – defense department, oil & gas, industrial, municipal, transportation, utilities, mining, renewal energy and engineering.
• Applications for the service to these many different industries include both construction and maintenance work involving excavating, debris removal and cleaning.

Desired Franchisee

Badger is ideally seeking a diversity franchisee partner. Priority would be for a veteran-owned partner. Additional alternatives include individuals that qualify for status as: minority business enterprise, disadvantaged business enterprise, 8(a) Business status, women business enterprise and HUBZone and Native American status. Operating capital requirement is $100-125k.

Requires a strong sales and operations focus. Mechanical background an asset. We will provide the needed training.
